MORE ABOUT ME

I’m on a quest for the most incredible adventure of my life. In 2020, I found myself on my back sick for six months, hardly able to breathe. It was there I found myself being thoroughly examined by God.

In the stillness day after day, coughing and coughing, I honestly thought, “This is it.” It was at that moment. I realized that I would devote my whole life to living fully each day if I got well. Laughing. Crying. Soaking in the sunsets. Watching the stars. See the leaves in all their glory each fall.

I wouldn’t rush from one thing to another in this life anymore. I wanted to appreciate everything around me. For each person whom God had entrusted to me in relationships, I would build them.

I didn’t travel as a child for many reasons. Upon getting married to my husband, I started to develop a desire to travel. I had overwhelming anxiety to overcome first. I also developed a lot of chronic illnesses over the years; some of it was hereditary, but I haven’t let that stop me from traveling. I have learned how to adapt and work with my zebra-like nature of hEDS, MCAS, POTS, and Fibromyalgia.

I was born to wander. It’s in my DNA.  In Destinations, I’ll share places I have traveled to. As most travel bloggers span the globe, being with chronic illness, I’ll be testing fun local places like river towns and festivals. You will find exciting stories about haunted places and historical spaces. Find diamond-in-the-rough towns making a comeback and venture into them.

“Let’s spill the tea.” It’s a famous saying of late- “spilling the tea.” Who doesn’t love to sit down with a warm cup of something good and chat with a close friend? You won’t find gossip in this post; you will find moments of deepness. These will be stories of faith, healing, and redemption. Stories of how God transformed his children. There will be stories from life and from creation as well! I look forward to sharing my heart with you all.

Ever since a road trip to Texas in 2015 with 3 hangry little boys, as we took backroads to San Antonio, we came across this fantastic outdoor restaurant called “Smokin Hops.” I was hooked on finding cool restaurants while traveling. In Eatery’s, I aim to share some places we have frequented on our travels, whether in Minnesota or from far away. I will also include breweries and distilleries in this list; they are such fun places to see and visit nationwide!

I loathed camping growing up. Disasters followed me. Storms, a car accident, even a tornado! I swore off camping. But that was tent camping. Get me something with solid walls and call it “Glamping,” then we’ll talk.  With 3 boys, it was an excellent investment! I am excited to share some of our favorite places with our boys and just us as a couple or with friends and the laughter of the joys of our glamping adventures.

Epiphanies come to all of us. It is up to us to gather the courage to seize the time it takes to soak in the moment of what they say. That is what Ah-ha Moments in our adventures are all about for me—finding beauty in the forgotten. Seeing the “what-ifs” in the impossibilities. Moments that make me stop and take my breath away. They give one pause. To think and reflect. There will even be a few “mishap” lessons, some unexpected “oops” adventures that were not even planned that caused upsets in the “apple cart” of our sojourn. Isn’t that like life, though?

Let's work together

Small businesses working together can build each other’s success and community,  lift each other’s burdens, and knit a web across any divides. Along the journey, you will find kindred spirits among strangers, and dreams become reality.
So let’s work together!
